JOB INTERVIEW – SAMPLE

JOB INTERVIEW – DESCRIBING YOURSELF

After applying for a job, you will obviously hope to be called for a job interview. In order to get well prepared for it, you will need a certain number of phrases. In a job interview, you will mainly be asked to describe yourself, your qualities and your experience.

In order to be able to do that properly, you will need the phrases below. I draw your attention to the fact that this interview can also be a chance for you to highlight experiences and opportunities (mettre en valeur).

First, here are some basic questions you should be able to answer in a job interview.

  • How would you describe yourself?
  • What can you tell me about yourself?
  • What have you got to offer us?
  • What about your previous experience?
  • What are your strengths/your strong points?
  • What are your weaknesses/your weak points?
  • Why do you think you are suitable for the position?
  • Why do you want to change jobs?
  • What do you think you gained by working in your last job?
  • Do you prefer working alone or with other people as part of a team?
  • Why should I recruit you? How could you persuade me to recruit you?
  • Why do you want this job?

If you want to stack the odds in your favour to get the job (mettre toutes les chances de votre côté), it’s important to prepare proper responses to the above questions. You have to make sure that you focus on the qualities that make you an ideal match for the job or the company (a match for the job = la personne idéale pour le job).

IN THE FOLLOW UP, YOU WILL DISCOVER NOT JUST HOW TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY
HOW TO STAND OUT IN THE WAY YOU ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS (SORTIR DU LOT).
